The World’s First Brain-Drone Race was a ground-breaking spectacle within the field of BCI research.

On April the 15th, 2017, at the Florida Gymnasium, the competition of one’s cognitive ability and mental endurance, required competitors to out-focus an opponent in a drone drag race fueled by electrical signals emitted from the brain. [1]

A Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) is a technology that uses a brain imaging device (in this case, Epoc Emotiv headset) for the purpose of controlling machines with the human brain and to understand the human’s emotional condition or state.

The event has been sponsored by the US’s National Science Foundation, Intel, Human Experience Research Lab, and the University of Florida.
